Filmmaking Thoughts and Tips from Roger Deakins

The Black & Blue has a great post up with filmmaking tips from acclaimed DP Roger Deakins. My favorite is this comment about knowing when to fix something that’s not perfect visually, or when to restrain yourself if it might impact the actor’s performance.

“In the end a film can look lousy but work because of a great performance but not the other way round. That’s something always worth remembering.”
