Organization and the Role of an Assistant Editor
Published by Matthew Jeppsen September 3rd, 2008 in News
Via the always informative Norman Hollyn I came across an excellent three-part series of posts on how to be an editor’s assistant. The author dishes out some tips and tricks to make life as an assistant easier, and talks about the organizational skills that the job demands. It’s an excellent series, and I recommend it highly for those coming into that role of post-production. Call it Assistant Editor School 101.

* Create custom bin headings for useful informationOrganization is key! (Part 3)
* Color code your clips and sequences
* Use multiple timeline views
* Make cheat sheets for yourself
That’s just a quick overview of the bulletpoints covered in this series, click on through for expanded discussion on each topic.
