Kelly,

Download Audacity. In the menu, go to generate. Change the freq to 20. Figure the number of seconds your video is and fill that in for the length.

Export as .wav.

Open your movie software and add that file to the audio of your video and export it.

Thankyou for addressing this problem.. it's driving me crazy. I have tried messing with the volume on my video so many times and re-uploading it to YouTube and still it's not perfect. The loud peaks are extremely loud and distorted. Could you possibly explain how one would go about 'mixing in a high frequency 19kHz to 20kHz sine wave into the audio'... I seriously have no idea what that even means, but I really want to fix the audio on my vid so I can upload it to YT. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, what a difference! Makes me really think twice about ever hosting any of our concert footage with them again. I hope they add a radio option for uploading video that asks what kind of audio it is. It's pretty easy for joe-user to pick between Interview/Documentary, Music and Movie. Of course the 80% (guessing) of their user-base with poor audio equipment won't notice the difference, and will likely think it sounds better through their tiny laptop or satellite speakers.
