I heard that redrock had big news. Want to see what is cookin! And what’s up with 3 rd party p2 media options now? IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG!

Panasonic, redrock, and Letus.
How about…
A roundup of Blue Ray authoring developments.
The discovery of a script sync equivalent for non-Avid folks.
When will OLED screens invade production?
Which hotel has the best all you care to consume buffet.
Hi guys,
first of all - thanks for the best NAB coverage on the web. I really appreciate all your hard work.
What I would like to see :
- new Mac products from Matrox
- transportable LED lights that can run from a battery
- light but good tripods
Everything about Scarlett !
Red will be covered in depth, rest assured. Great feedback from everyone else, keep it coming guys. You can’t complain we didn’t show it if you don’t weigh in :)
Man, I am stoked to be there. Following the little gems is what I like to read about. Stuff that gets passed on by others. There is so much to take in at NAB…
Will Sony get serious with the EX1 and give us everything the Z7 and S270 do (exchangable lenses, SD recording, cheap recording media, shoulder mount) but with a 1/2″ 1920×1080p resolution optical block?
Will JVC and Canon release a HD camcorder with solid state media recording?
Two things - Scarlet and HMC150
This is what I’d like to see in your coverage of NAB:
- Blu-Ray authoring (new drives, software, etc)
- Redrock’s new announcements
- Newer and cheaper LED lighting equipment
- New HD cameras from Panasonic, Sony, Canon, etc.
- Current state of HD production in the prosumer market
- Maturing of HD formats (HD Pro, DVCPro HD, HDV, AVCHD, etc)
- New post-production, color-correction, and effects offerings (Magic Bullet, Boris, etc)
- Solid state media: the facts (P2 vs. SxS cards, new contenders)
- Video for the web: beyond YouTube (Vimeo and other HD offerings for producers)
I’m sure I’ll come up with more.

A production master monitor roundup/shootout between the
eCinema
Cinetal
New Sony BVM–L230
Also maybe some coverage of the CML party. They tend to have most of the new cameras, recorders and monitors all in one place shooting the same subject..Last years big surprise was the Panasonic’s HPX-3000.
Interesting color correction options and interfaces
Roundup of aftermarket Red accessories
P2 Genie, Red Genie
New Leader 5850 waveform/vectorscope
Keep up the good work
ooO O000 OO0000!
Do a whole episode on a reasonably priced jibs,/dolleys/and steadicams
No junk
all jibs most have a remote head of some kind.
and none of those weird dv rig stabalizers. Only steadicams with spring arms.
Please.
Did I mention HD flypacks.
This is great feedback, we’re taking notes and will continue to watch these comments over the weekend. Thanks!

2/3 inch 35mm adaptors from brevis and letsus.
Camplex and similar systems.
and um. check out all the all the cameras we can’t afford.
And ask Brian valenti if their new mattebox can fit on a 2/3 with the handgrip interfiering with the swing away mechanism.
Just saw Canon hasn’t gone solid state and maybe JVC won’t either. What’s going on? Sony is set to make a killing.
I can’t wait to hear and see the New Panny Varicam!!! Also a check up on the Fugi brand P2 card and when to expect them. Anything on lighting and grip. Maybe a comparison on playback monitors/color correct monitors for the edit suite. Finally a check up from last year on the Si-2K.
P.S. Anything new from Lectrosonics?
Thanks
Bobby
I would love to see something on if Panasonic is going to respond to the Sony EX1. I really hope they do.
1/3″ is so two years ago.
Forget the EX1. The new EX3 will be the biggest thing at NAB this year. Interchangable lenses, new integrated full res viewfinder, shoulder pad and new peripherals like SxS card deck (PMW-EX30), 60 GB SxS hard drive recorder(PHU-60K), new Version 2.0 Clip Browser that has built in SD downconversion, 32GB SxS CARD (SPB-32) 2 of which will give you 4 hours at highest quality. It’s a complete system that now makes anything less than 1920×1080 @ 35mbps recording redundant.
Are you kidding me!! The “EX3 will be the biggest thing at NAB this year”!!
Its all about RED!
Jim M
We are on the ground running here in Vegas looks to be an interesting year, stay tuned. Keep the comments coming and emailing things you would like to see will be the best way to make request once the show starts on Monday because things get a little nuts.
SCARLET first thing tommarrow.
Blu-ray authoring
Red Scarlet
I would love to see more new media tech: IPTV and DCN (Digital Content Delivery). Even though I love everything else you cover. Much of this stuff gets overlooked and it is the future of media.
Blackmagic Designs has new items worth checking out
Redrock shoulder support and mattebox!
On the EX3 Find out about ccu compatibility. I am half between the EX1/3 or the hpx 500.
Thankyou guys some much I all most feel like I’m there.
Can you go and get some footage and feedback on Tangent new affordable Control Surface called Wave for use with apps like Final Cut Studio’s Color?
Just an fyi. The Matrox flash video piece is broken and won’t play on the home page.
Hey Keith, the Matrox clip has been fixed now. Thanks for the heads up.
