NAB 2008 - Redrock microShouldermount Video Podcast
Published by Matthew Jeppsen April 22nd, 2008 in FreshDV, NAB 2008, NewsRedrock Micro has been gradually expanding beyond their 35mm adapter system roots into the area of cinema accessories. They have provided a fantastic follow focus system for quite some time, and now with the introduction of a full-featured mattebox they are really rounding out their product line. At NAB 2008 they also introduced a handheld camera support system called the microShouldermount. We actually had the chance to test out the system while shooting some of our NAB coverage, and in this video segment you’ll get a look at our run-n-gun HVR-Z7U rig built on the microShouldermount. Thanks to both you and your sponsors for the outstanding job you folks did with your videos of major NAB 2008 annoumcements. You asked us your viewers what we were interested in and you guys sure did deliver!
Great stuff from NAB. Next best thing to being there!
I have a suggestion for you. Since you guys are targeting the pros, you might want to throw a compressor on your program audio. Threshold -30/Ration 3:1 might be a quick fix for starters. This will keep your interviews consistent even when the mics are not–and will keep the program material at roughly the same level as your intro and sponsor spots. Just a suggestion.
Keep up the great work. It’s a big help to those of us who don’t have the time to research every bit of new equipment.
Actually, great idea on the compressor.
hello i see the handle on the back of the sony cam with a swit light bat stuck on to it what are the parts is it just the limited edition top handle for the lunchbox
it goes to the side can u tell me more
Chris, the handle is just Redrock’s new top handle, we stuck it on the back to assist getting the rig up on the shoulder and for carrying.
