It is being reported by CNBC that the Writers Guild strike has ended, major media companies and the WGA have finally shook hands on a new deal. Technically the writers can still reject the deal says Michael Eisner, but “…it would be insane if they turned it down.”
UPDATE: The WGA and AMPTP remain in a media blackout, but Broadcasting and Cable reports that they may be back to work by mid-week. They also have a link to the deal offered by studios.

This doesn’t sound so good, according to CNBC’s quote of Eisner, “Due to studio cutbacks, many of the writers will not return to the big money contracts they had before the strike” which basically means, “we’ve fired or reduced the pay of writers we felt were overpaid to begin with”
Sounds like a sad day for writers. The studios seem to have found a way to hold on to their monopoly of profits while running the creators of content into the ground.
Lets wait and see what the offer is.
