Perian Components Conflict with AVCHD in FCP6

The Apple fix is simple…just trash /Library/QuickTime/Perian.component if FCP is crashing when attempting to transfer AVCHD footage.

I independently determined tonight that Perian also causes Final Cut Express 4.0 to crash when importing AVCHD video. Trashed it as suggested here and FCE now imports OK.
