    Hey guys,

Just discovered your site recently. Love the podcasts. learned a lot from them, so always look forward to them.

Especially liked the podcasts about digital distribution. I have my opinions about film making in general. I find a lot of filmmakers seem to be obsessed about the technology, technical, but I am a firm beleiver that you can make a movie with no money that is a piece of nitro, if you come up with a great concept, story, hook, and regardless of camera, edit, and the quality of distrubution format, people will buy into it. And I wish filmmakers in general would get more obsessed about getting a great concept.

However, I know you guys are here to talk about the technical, and thats great, because I am just learning about cams and editing, but I sometimes want to get across to filmmakers, damm, focus on getting a great script and don’t get too hung up on technical TOO much. There’s a point where we can have all the perfect tools and distribution, but crap content. Then we are all just hollywood ourselves

Anyway, I know you will know this, but obviously this is the site where technical stuff is discussed, and I love it. As that is my weakness. I am soaking it all up!

I have the scripts, but all this technical knowledge is freeing me more. So thanks for this! Excellent! look forward to next week.

Thanks for the comments, David. I agree, we all tend to get hung up on the tools at times, and forget the reason those tools exist. There needs to be a balance in filmmaking.

We’ve got a great podcast coming that I think you will really enjoy. It’s a discussion with a group of indie filmmakers with a strong focus on performances and story, and how they shot a feature which will soon be hitting the festival circuit. Look for that in about a week.

Thanks again for the feedback, keep it coming.

We have not been doing live podcast recently due to all the testing work we have been doing. Our goal is to still do podcast on a semi regular basis. The best way to ensure you get everything is the iTunes feed. We’ll have some new podcast coming up as soon as we get some time…besides the podcast check the tutorial section there is often lots of “fresh” info there as well.
