Casio Announces 300fps Digital Camera
Published by Matthew Jeppsen October 10th, 2007 in Cameras, Hardware, NewsCasio is developing a six-megapixel CMOS digital still camera which is capable of snagging 60 frames per second bursts of 6MP images. It can also shoot VGA video at a blazing 300 fps. It is said to be equipped with a 12x zoom, 2.8″ LCD, EVF, and sensor-shift image stabilization.

This looks awesome. Depending on the price, this might be a great tool for making short form pieces like commercials and music videos.
300 fps? That’s Matrix/They Call Her One Eye territory when it comes to slow motion.
Indeed it certainly seems useful for SD applications! It would also be great if users will have the option of lesser framerates at higher resolutions. Say high framerate bursts at 2-3 megapixel. 1920×1080 is technically just 2.1 MP, so 120fps at that rez certainly seems possible. However, I am unsure just how big the burst cache is, and if that is a hardware limit or a card media speed limitation. Could be a very interesting product though.
