Is there any test footage from this device online yet?
It appears this machine records to mpeg2 … does that mean it uses 4:2:2 compression/subsampling?
thanks.
It records in the XDCAM format, which is high(er) bitrate MP2 at 4:2:0. The EX! can also output 4:2:2 via the rear SDI port.
You can find a ton of links and info on the camcorder here: http://www.freshdv.com/2007/09/more-xdcam-ex-pre-launch-official-specifications.html
