Dear Mr. Moore, Mr. Miller

Filming is not about the "sexiness" you mentioned of tech- specs, but on picture quality. And picture quality is not on tech specs like 4k. Rent an Arri D20 for 6 days (this is the same price as buying the mentioned red camera) and you'll see the difference between "Sexy" tech specs and real know how.

Or, to stay in terms of a more common lived-in-world, buy a 120 $ digital consumer camera with 12 million pixels, and buy a Leica R8 Digital with 10 mio. Px. and compare the pictures you get out of them.

Indeed we do not compete with the red guys, they've done a great job by means of giving indie filmmakers without budget a reasonably priced camera. We wish them only the best, because they can really push the envelope in low budget filming which is often producing good films by artistic measures.

And Mr.Miller, we did not smoke anything. This is not a hip lifestyle startup, the Scientists here have been developing high end technical and software applications for TNC's for over 20 years.

Thank you very much for your valued opinion.

I'm not going to argue the form factor points, RED clearly has the design edge here. To be fair though, if you ordered a RED now, you wouldn't get it until LATE Spring '08, if that. GS claims shipment in weeks, so that is an advantage I suppose. And it can be rented (as can RED rigs, I imagine, or at least soon).

I still want to see a Stouffer wedge test chart, I'm having a hard time swallowing the dynamic range numbers they are throwing around.

What is they a smokin? And who the heck designed the body? I agree in todays market they are going to have to deliver on aesthetics, functionality, and performance at a much better price.

How in the world do they think they can compete with RED's 4k sexiness with that big clunker at that price!?
