Just received word this evening that the Foveas wireless follow focus systems are indeed in production and shipping. We will get our hands on a demo unit just as soon as possible and share a review.

If you are looking for a remote focus solution for use with 35mm adapter on the HVX, the BarTech BFD is a rock-solid solution. It's a bit pricey at around $4K for the unit and a motor, but that's a bargain when you consider the prohibitively-expensive alternatives from Arri or Preston. Foveas makes one as well, but the last time I talked to them they were having trouble getting them made? Which is odd, no news about that on their website. And of course Redrock is working on a remote focus solution, it looks very cool and feature-rich. But if you need something now and have a budget for it, the BarTech is bulletproof.

If you are looking for an electronic FF just to interface with the stock HVX lens then it will be hard to beat this controller by BeBob it can control both Focus and Iris via the lanc controls of the HVX.

Funny you should ask if you check out the October issue of DV Magazine we just did an extensive review and testing of all the major FF units. They were several top performers but the top value for the money much to our surprise was the RedRock Micro the have a version 3 out which we examine here:

http://www.freshdv.com/2007/07/redrock-follow-focus-update.html

The only issue with this unit and the HVX-200 is that on a stock lens it tends to block the WB buttob which isn't a big deal to me but some have an issue with it. I recommend pairing it with the Zacuto HVX200 lens gear, or Chrosziel makes a good one as well but without hard stops. I'm not clear what you mean by "Remote" do you mean electronic remote or like a whip extension?
