Or if the Iconix offered HDMI or Firewire out, you have significantly dropped the cost of being able to use the camera which at the moment is limited to the Panasonic AJ-HD1400 VTR. The GVD1000 has proved popular as a portable split but the only advantage the GV-HD700 offers is the larger 16:9 screen.
