Regarding the FreshDV site color scheme, it seems to be right on the line of readability for some monitors (and eyeballs). We are addressing this, many thanks for your patience.

<i>"and i’m still waiting for those latitude tests"</i>
As are we. :-) You'll see them here as soon as Bruce has the time to get 'em out the door. One thing about Bruce, you know they'll be done right.

The Cinevate power pack looks really interesting. Wasn't it just 7200 mAh though? Seems like I remember it being in that range.

Kendal, that wasn't me.... that's JoeM. i can read everything just fine :D
Bruce, i looked at the tekkeon and it looks nice. but you cant get it here in Australia. i haven't been able to find anything similar either. i'm just going to have to buy eight 1500mAh batteries and 3 chargers :D

if someone designed a 10,000 mAh universal (can power onboard LCD and camera and mixer and a light) battery that was mountable on 15mm rails, maybe even had a pad on the bottom so you could use it as a shoulder mount as well, it would be nice and balance out a lot of 35mm adapter rigs. do you know of anything like that?

i know cinevate has mentioned a 12v power pack that's rails mountable. that would be awesome.. but it looks like it only has XLR power and it isn't on their site at all. it's only mentioned in forums by Denis.

bye for now

and i'm still waiting for those latitude tests ;D

There may be good information here, but I can't read this website. Dark type on top of a dark background may look cool, but readability is terrible.

Patrick, regarding a long-life battery for the HV20 - I haven't tried any fancy external Anton Bauer stuff on it yet, but did have success with the Tekkeon MP3400. I was using it to power my monitor and found that it could power the HV20 nicely too... it just needs a longer cable to be perfect. And so far no go on powering both at the same time. Anyway, it has great capacity - I have never run it down fully in a single period of use with either my monitor or the HV20 - will do quantitative tests one day.

Latitude tests soon, I promise.

I came across this solution to modifying the aperture ring on SLR leses to work without the pushbearings that make the aperture click at the set intervals.

That was a very cool interview. I have the exact same views of the HV20. My friend wants to buy the Canon A1 and I keep telling him, you can get the HV20, 35mm adapter, lenses, rails, follow focus and an XLR balance box for the same price!!!
the only down sides to the HV20 i've found is;
crap in low-light - especially with a 35mm adapter - I have a new found love for 1/25 shutter speed :D
you can't get a long life battery
actors/coworkers look at it and assume it's JUST a consumer camera :D

when are we going to see those latitude tests????
