More evidence of FCP Extreme at NAB
Published by Matthew Jeppsen March 28th, 2007 in NLE, News, Post-ProductionMike Curtis has posted on another link in the long chain pointing towards the much-rumored Final Cut Pro announcement at NAB 2007…it seems that the FCP Crossgrade promotion has been removed. The assumption is that Apple is set to release a high-end version of Final Cut that is aimed at the Avid Media Composer market. Stay tuned, this could be interesting…competition is nearly always good for consumers.

Please don’t be a 10K upgrade though Apple, unless of course it comes with all the bundled hardware then it would be worth it. Should be interesting to see what happens.
If “FCP Extreme” is in fact aimed towards Media Composer territory, and is from a new Apple dev team…methinks it’s gotta be in the 3K-5K price range. But who knows…maybe they’re just launching a new iPod on the 15th. :-)

The expiration of the crossgrade offer is not news - if you read the fine print of the offer back when it was originally put out there by Apple, it stated that the offer would expire this month. FCP Extreme may or may not happen, but this is not any evidence for it.
