For a long time Panasonic P2 users have longed to have the functionality that Final Cut offered but had no way to ingest card since Apple ditched the PCMCIA slot in favor of the express card slot on new Macbooks. Well today the wait for a P2 solution for Macbook users may be over. Duelsystems has been in the process for sometime now of developing a PCMCIA to Express card adapter with full support for P2 cards for both PC and MAC systems. As of today their press release, indicates they are now taking orders for the adapters although they estimate it will be 3-4 weeks before orders are filled. Nonetheless this is a giant step forward in the adaption of P2 technology one that frankly I don’t understand why Panasonic didn’t have a similar solution in place prior to releasing the P2 technology. Anyways there is a short time frame where you can order the adapters at $99. Click here to get yours today. You can expect a complete review when I get mine in.

Agreed but to have the functionality of the adapter to interface directly with the toolset for P2 Cards that FCP offers I think it will be worth the trade off. In VTR days we had to lug a whole deck around so the option of simple reader , albeit not as great as an integrated solutions still strikes me as a good option.
