Avid2FCP: Former Avid Editors talk Final Cut Pro
Published by Matthew Jeppsen March 14th, 2007 in NLE, News, Post-Production, Research, Tutorials
Avid2FCP is a new site aimed at Avid editors who are eyeballing or have recently switched to Final Cut Pro. Industry pros Martin Baker (of plugin firm Digital Heaven), Jude Cotter, Victoria Parks-Murphy, Mark Raudonis and Shane Ross (Little Frog in HiDef) have committed to fielding questions in the forums, and have already authored a few articles on FCP capabilities.
“The Articles section of the site will provide tips, tricks and introduction to FCP features. ‘Myths and Misconceptions’ and ‘What we like about FCP’ are two of the articles already available. Switcher Stories is expected to be a highly popular part of the site. These personal articles from a wide variety of editors provide a fascinating insight into their journey towards FCP. To coincide with the launch of the site, Avid2FCP is seeking editors who are about to start learning FCP and would be willing to share their progress in regular blog posts. Closing date for submissions is Friday 6 April.”
I believe this site will prove to be an incredible resource for NLE users. The FCP vs Avid holy war is waged on a daily basis on forums and messageboards all over, and till now there has not been a single place for accurate information on the debate. I look forward to intelligent and informed discussion on the features and issues that matter to editors.
