X-bit labs has a extremely detailed review of several LCD Monitors that are intended for pros who demand color accuracy. They took a hard look at the NEC MultiSync LCD2190UXi, NEC MultiSync LCD2190UXp, and Samsung SyncMaster XL20. Features like LED light sources, hardware calibration, and ambient lighting sensing…these aren’t your average display panels. And like most pro-level equipment they come at a price premium as well.

…but it should be noted that these are all discussing color calibration and consistency in generic, not SD or HD or 2K or 4K or DCI or SMPTE specific terms.
While you can calibrate these monitors with some effort, it is up to you to supply them with presets for Rec 601 & 709, etc.
So I’d say these aren’t necessarily good choices for video based work.
But the article does inform as to issues relevant to color accurate video work - inconsistent values, calibration, viewing angle differences, etc.

Well I came here to see if these any of these Pro Lcds would fit my HD BS monitoring needs and my man Mike saves me the troubling of reading the article. Mike is like Moses in some ways. I guess it’s back to Google.
