This has to be the most professional looking DIY waterproof housing project I’ve laid eyes on. Very impressive looking, and you can build your own for around $70 in parts and some time. This particular design uses 4″ PVC so camcorder choices are limited. (I wonder what the dimensions of the Sony HC1 and HC3 are?)
The creator says “This one has been down to 92 feet salt water and has made a total of 6 repeat dives with open/close cycles in between. In other words, I didn’t just get lucky.”
As always, decide how much your time is worth before embarking on a DIY project…but due to the incredibly high entry price-point for housings, this one looks pretty darn attractive.
