We mentioned the lack of 720p, 24fps editing solution for the JVC GY-HD100 several months ago, and Mike “God of HD” Curtis commented that LumiereHD was working on a solution for FCP editors.

Well, it looks like that solution is nearly ready…LumiereHD now has a 24p editing solution (beta) for the JVC GY-HD100. The price is right, and it looks like it has all the neccesary features, albiet requiring a few workarounds to edit in FCP.

Filmmakers, rejoice. And poke around the HD For Indies site while you are there, Mike has posted tons of relevant and invaluable info on HD and filmmaking. If you aren’t a regular reader of HDFI, you should be.

As a timely sidenote, JVC, Duart Film and Video, and Able Cine Tech will be presenting a series of workshops on October 21 at the Tribeca Screening Room in NYC. The focus will be on acquisition with the HD100 and a workflow towards 35mm delivery. Sounds interesting. Space is limited, RSVP to penny@ablecine.com.

Dude! Thanks for the plug, and the props! Yeah, I think it is a big deal, although it is certainly not as straightforward as FireWire ingest straight to a 24p timeline, so I’d suggest reading up on the process before diving in.

Also, awesome find with that audio recording thing the other day - I’ve already got a client looking into that based on my link to your article…

-mike of HDFI, or is it HD4NDs?
