UPDATE: I posted this back in July, and it has consistently received a considerable amount of views each month. I’m reposting an update back at the top to give those that may have missed it a second chance to see this. Note that the original link went down, I’ve found an alternate copy and it’s fixed now.
If you haven’t seen this artist’s work, you owe it to yourself to take a peek. And if you can lend any more information or insight on the artist Yuval Yairi, please feel free to leave a comment or two at the original post.
Israeli news site Haaretz.com is running a story on graphic artist Yuval Yairi, who uses a PD-150 in still-shot mode to create incredible photo collages.

yuval yairi’s work is unique and should be shown in modern art museums . it is exhibited now in tel aviv , israel, and must be seen by world experts
what’s a PD-150?
-Is it a digital camera?
The PD-150 is a 3-CCD MiniDV/DVCAM camcorder made by Sony. It has the capability of capturing stills, but image resolution is rather low, and the camera is a much better video camera than a still camera.
I guess you could say that by combining many images into one, Yairi is effectively upping the resolution of his images.
thanks for the yuval yairi info
good work!
I wonder how he took those stills. With a MatteBox and filters? Wide lens? Captured many stills and then combined them in one big photo afterwards in photoshop?
THE YEAR IS NOW 2008.
I HAVE BEEN READING ON THE NET ABOUT THIS ARTIST -YUVAL YAIRI - AND I AM AMAZED.
